The second-generation Volvo V70 is built on Volvo's P2 platform and sold in North America from 2001-2007. The P2 V70 station wagon or estate has a much more rounded aerodynamic body than the previous generation's boxy styling. The V70 sold with several options ranging from front-wheel-drive naturally aspirated five-cylinder models to all-wheel drive low-pressure turbo models. Two high performance, high-pressure turbo models were produced, the V70 T5, and the 300 horsepower V70R. There was also a crossover variant of the V70 called the Cross Country or XC70. The XC70 featured all-wheel-drive, raised ground clearance, and more aggressive body side moldings.
